Imagining characters for Story and Concept
In DRAW225- Imagining Characters for Story and Concept, I explored techniques and skills to help develop dynamic and interesting character designs.

1- Alphabet Characters:

Using the letters of the cursive alphabet to inspire dynamic poses for characters.
2- Character Archetypes:

Creating five joined characters inspired by the classic character archetype tropes (jock, princess, nerd, introvert, rebel).

3- Creative Creatures:

Designing creatures based off popular mythology and folklore.
4- Animals As Characters:

Using the studies of the movements and proportions of an animal to inspire a character design.

5- Character Silhouettes:

Practicing both symmetrical and asymmetrical silhouetting for character design.
6- Tim Burton Greek Mythology:

Creating character designs for mythological Greek deities based on Tim Burton's iconic style.

7- Squash And Stretch:

Experimenting with dynamic poses by constructing three sets of three standard, squashed, and stretched poses in motion.
8- Aged Expressions:

Studying dynamic movement and characterization by creating four sets of three poses ranging in emotion intensity (happy, scared, angry, fear).

Midterm: Move Me:

Studying how the body moves in action by creating a looped set of poses, referencing previous squash/stretch and emotion assignments.
9- Rockwell's Gossip

Studying facial expressions and characterization by recreating Rockwell's "Gossip" piece.

10- Hands, Feet, and Shoes

Creating themed studies on illustrating and coloring hands, feet, and shoes for characters.
11- Fashion Through the Eras

Creating character costume on mannequins to study both the eras of art and creative costume design for character design.
